HaRav Yitzchak Yosef: Jewish Farmer was Killed Because He Was Jewish

yyoRishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita and Minister of Religious Services David Azoulai on Thursday night 8 Tammuz have determined David Bar Kapora HY”D was murdered in a terror attack.

The 70-year-old farmer was beaten to death in a field in his farm in Moshav Pedaya earlier this week. He was beaten severely and died a number of hours later in Hillel Yafeh hospital of his massive injuries. The terrorists remain at large. Israel Police is investigation but has yet to officially declare the murder an act of terror.

During the levaya Rav Yosef said “The deceased loved and learned Torah, setting side fixed times for Torah study daily. He was also very stringent not to speak during davening and merited children who observe Torah, Mitzvos and are Yirei Shomayim as well as being involved in yishuv Eretz Yisrael…”

Rav Yosef added “He was murdered because he was a Jew and died Al Kiddush Hashem”.

Azoulai’s spokesman is Daniel Bar, a son of the victim. He spoke of his late father’s love of Avodas Hashem and working the field in Holy Eretz Yisrael.

Minister Azoulai added “The victim was murdered in cold blood in a brutal attack, hate for Jews in its purest form. They strike out at us from all directions as we try living like Jews, in Pedaya, Yerushalayim and in Tel Aviv…”

Daniel added, “My father was a member of the Egged cooperative and simultaneously, for 30 years, he grew grapes in the Karmei Yosef area. He loved Toras Yisrael, Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael, studied Torah and worked in his vineyard daily”.

Police have yet to make an announcement. The investigation continues.
