EPIC FAIL: Israel Prints New 200 NIS Bills With Wrong Date!

nIsrael’s new NIS 200 blue note hit the streets today, Wednesday 11 Teves. The Bank of Israel made a big deal over it for it is the second note with the new high end technology to prevent forgery, joining the NIS 20 note.

Interestingly, an error was already found as the bill says ‘2015’ and ‘5775’ instead of ‘5776’.

It is explained that Bank of Israel Governor Dr. Flug assumed her post in 5775 so the date is not an error. However, we are all cognizant of the fact the bill was released quite a few months later, today, in 5776.

  1. The notes have been in preparation since before Rosh Hashanna, and that’s when she took her position…. Its clearly not a mistake.

  2. This is neither epic nor a fail. Three quarters of 2015 was in 5775, which was also the period in which the note signatory took her position, as the article states.

Both years are quite appropriate to be printed on the note.

And it isn’t even a slow news day, unfortunately.
