Chief of Trauma Medicine at Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem, Dr. Ofer Merin, was among the speakers addressing a Magen David Adom EMS conference in the Tel Aviv Hilton on Monday, 16 Teves 5776.

Dr. Meron in recent months, during the ongoing Palestinian terror wave, has treated many stabbing victims and he told the conference with confidence the attackers are not stabbing victims at random, but clearly, they are aiming for vital organs to kill their victims. Dr. Meron explains the wounds he has seen in recent months tell the story beyond the shadow of a doubt.

He explained one man with multiple stab wounds to his upper body arrived three weeks ago. That man was stabbed in a lung, right atrium and right ventricle, adding “It is as if someone read the manual” because he believes a victim does not receive two knife wounds to the heart by accident.

Dr. Meron spoke of the seriousness of the wounds, the extraordinary efforts being made to save lives amid this most serious situation.
