Early Morning Armed Robbery at Baltimore’s Largest Kosher Supermarket ‘Seven Mile Market’

DSCN0694

An armed robbery occurred at Seven Mile Market in Baltimore early Wednesday morning, thankfully no one was injured.

Many people driving past the supermarket  wondered why there was a large police presence at the store.

Before opening, a male approximately six feet tall came in to the store and, at gunpoint, demanded money from the store manager who gave him a small amount of cash. The robber then fled.

The store opened on time and everything is proceeding as normal.

Store management is working closely with Baltimore County Police and Shomrim on this case.

This comes as the Baltimore community is on edge from another event that occurred last night.

As YWN reported earlier Wednesday, a resident of the Baltimore Jewish community was robbed at gunpoint, as he was walking to Shul on Tuesday evening.

The victim was walking into Maariv when he was approached by 3 African American males wearing hoods.

The suspects brandished a weapon while instructing the kollel man to empty his pockets and hand over his phone and wallet.

911 was called and Shomrim members were dispatched to assist in locating the suspects as they fled toward the Fallstaff Manor Apartments directly behind the Shul.

One of the assailants was described as wearing a blue sweatshirt. Thankfully, no one was injured in this incident.

In the last 3 weeks, Shomrim has recorded a whopping 28 home break ins.

Sources tell  YWN that Baltimore Shomrim have received a much higher call volume in the last 2 weeks and additional units have been patrolling the area to further assist the Baltimore police in apprehending the perpetrators and to restore calm to the community.

Baltimore Shomrim urge the community to be on the look out for all suspicious vehicles, people, and activity and to immediately call 911 and Baltimore Shomrim at 410.358.9999.

  1. The Drek that attempted to burn down Baltimore city two years ago is now marching into a different part of town. May this Drek have a mapalah b’korov.

  2. This has been Baltimore Jews since they lived in Lower Park Heights and Forest Park. The only, and I mean ONLY way to lessen this problem is to fight back. These racists….they know its Jews they’re robbing…..need to be surprised with brass knuckles and their own medicine. Instead of us waiting, we need to be prepared. Make THEM run from you. We ain’t runnin’ from you neighborhood destroyers anymore. You already have our old shuls. No more!

  3. SUGGESTION: PEOPLE IN BALTIMORE AREA SHOULD MAKE SURE TO GET THE LETTERS AND THE PLACEMENT OF THEIR MEZUZOS CHECKED! AS WE ALL KNOW, LETTERS IN THE MEZUZAH FADE OVER TIME AND SHOULD BE CHECKED SOMETIMES MORE THAN TWICE IN SEVEN YEARS.

  4. Your racist comments denigrating an entire segment of the Baltimore community are totally inappropriate and more likely than not to blow back against you. There are criminal elements in the yiddeshe community as well, some of whom have lived in the Baltimore/D.C. metropolitan areas and the subject of national media attention.

  5. Gadolhadorah: Jews who committed crimes, as much a Chillul Hashem as it is, aren’t going around with guns, attacking people, breaking into homes, stealing cars and/or robbing stores etc.

The reality is also, that Blacks are victims too and most are decent law abiding people, but the problem is clearly within the Black community and only they can fix it.

  6. First, the way to lessen the problem is not to fight back. It is to have more patrols, to have security cameras, to have armed guards where appropriate, and to work with the policy and prosecutors to give stiff sentences to those who are caught. Security cameras are both a deterrent and and an aid to catching the criminals. Every shul should have cameras outside, with a flashing light to warn criminals to keep away.
Second, the black community in the lower park heights area is known to be occupied by low class people and criminals. Our car was stolen recently and found in this area. About 15-20 years ago, a neighbor’s car was stolen (an elderly lady). My wife drove down to the area and found the car in about 15 minutes. Before the patrol came on the scene, it was not unusual for someone to be robbed when coming home from shul on Friday night.
