Former IDF Chief Gantz: Obsession with the Hebron Shooting Inappropriate

idfFormer IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz used a gathering in the Israel Museum to speak out against Members of Knesset, who he accuses of using the incident on Purim in which a soldier shot a wounded terrorist dead for political gain.

“This is not a reality TV show” Gantz exclaimed, adding the protests for and against the soldier and the wealth of comments from elected officials are all out of place. “This is not a matter of popularity” he explained, citing this is a matter of probing an incident that is a part of the IDF mission to remain the moral military that it is, stating the relevant chain of command must probe the incident and report on its findings. He praised the IDF soldiers who serve in Hebron and other areas, the soldiers who put themselves in harm’s way to protect citizens of Israel.

Gantz would not comment on the matter, which he pointed out is under investigation and therefore it is inappropriate for politicians and the media to continue discussing it. He stressed the IDF will not be run “by social networking” and any chief of staff that permits such an occurrence should remove his ranks from his shoulders and step down.

  1. I got news for this Zionist commander who sent 73 Jewish boys to death in Gaza, the Torah morals are what count not your Communist ones.

  2. Karlbenmarx, you’re dead wrong to mix the two! How dare you!?
As for the Torah values, isn’t it against halocha to discuss this matter altogether – isn’t it לשון הרע?
The poor soldier was convicted in the courts of public opinion!
I happen to agree with Gantz on this one! These soldiers put their lives in harms way each and every day going into a גוב of famished אריותwith one desired interest and goal – KILL AN ISRAELI SOLDIER, KILL A JEW! C’mon, karlbenmarx, you’re not thinking rationally this time!

  3. #3, I want this soldier not only freed but given a medal, it is the Zionists commanders and political leaders who have done loshon hora and other evil to him, he should be given an award for saving Yidden.

  4. Karlbenmarx, that point I fully agree with you!
The IDF should be given orders to shoot any and every terrost skunk that attempts a Yiddishe life – be it civilian or soldier. Furthermore, I think their homes ought be destroyed instantaneously! And maybe even their families detained or deported, if that can be done. And, of course, the terrorists bodies are not to be returned. They’re to be burned and wrapped in pig skin and dumped into the sea!
THAT is the absolute minimum that can be done to wipe out the terrorists from off the face of the globe.
All I agree with Gantz is that the public should not be mixed into the poor soldier’s case! It can only hurt him. Also, the more publicity there is the more the world will watch the story and that pressures Israel into an irrational outcome.
