In light of the harsh allegations announced against Modi’in Illit Mayor R’ Yaakov Gutterman, on Thursday, the mayor paid a visit to the home of HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita, Kikar Shabbat reports. The report adds that Gutterman was seeking a bracha from R’ Kanievsky in light of the reports surrounding alleged criminal activity.

Gutterman presented the facts surrounding the case being built against him. Officials in the Rav’s home refused to indicate just how the Gadol HaDor responded.

Earlier this month, police recommended criminal charges against Gutterman, as was reported by YWN-ISRAEL.
