SPYSWAP CONFIRMED: All 10 In Russian Spy Case To Be Deported Tonight

All 10 people accused of being Russian spies in the U.S. are set to be deported later tonight after entering guilty pleas today in Manhattan federal court.

According to the Department of Justice, each defendant pled guilty to charges of conspiracy to act as an unregistered agent of a foreign country.

Manhattan resident Anna Chapman and El Diario La Prensa columnist Vicky Pelaez are among those who will be transferred over to the custody of the Russian Federation.

The 11th suspect is still at large in Cyprus, where he was taken into custody and then released on bail.

According to U.S. officials, Russia will release four people convicted of spying for the west in exchange for the 10 people arrested in the United States for being unregistered Russian agents.

It marks one of the largest spy swaps between the two countries since the Cold War.

Officials in neither country would confirm an exchange was planned, but a security expert tells the Associated Press that the exchange is imminent.

A lawyer for Igor Sutyagin, a Russian analyst accused of spying for the Americans, tells the AP that her client has been flown to Vienna to begin the exchange.

Special riot police have secured the perimeter of a prison in Moscow, where some of the suspects convicted of spying for the United States are being held.

How about a double double agent swap:

Pollard to E”Y in exchange for Vanunu who can go live in Berkeley, and Monsey Hamas cell leaders Weiss and Beck in exchange for Gilad Shalit?
