Heat Advisory Issued For NYC

A Heat Advisory is in effect for parts of the New York City metropolitan area.

A warm airmass will remain across the area through Tuesday, the National Weather Service said. A cold front Tuesday night will drop temperatures closer to seasonal averages for Wednesday.

The heat advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. for New York City; Westchester County and Nassau County in New York; and Bergen County and Hudson County in New Jersey.

A heat advisory is issued for New York City when high humidity is expected to combine with hot temperatures to make it feel like it is at least 95 degrees for two consecutive days or 100 degrees for any length of time.
