Israeli Official: We Struck In Sudan

A senior Israeli military official told TIME Magazine Wednesday that the Jewish state was behind a mysterious air strike in Sudan Tuesday that killed two people.

“It’s not our first time there,” the official was quoted as saying, apparently referring to the 2009 airstrike that demolished an arms convoy near the border with Egypt.

The Al-Arabiya news channel reported on Wednesday that one of the two men killed in the airstrike on Sudan, which some claim was carried out by Israel, was an Arab national who was responsible for arming Hamas.

The network later changed the report to say that police sources confirmed that both men were Sudanese arms dealers.

Al-Jazeera also filed its share of conflicted reports on the incident. The Qatari news network first cited an anonymous security source saying that one of the men who were killed was Palestinian, while the other was Iranian. Later, an Al-Jazeera reporter in Sudan said that both of the victims were Sudanese, and that one of them was a notorious arms dealer.

  1. I don’t know if Israel was involved or not, but a Time magazine report from an unnamed official doesn’t verify it, as they have an interest in causing pressure to bear on Israel.

  2. WShat Israeli official in their right mind would admit to such a thing, even if true? Such a statement can do Israel no good.

  3. This is madness the proof that this is rubbish is that israel has never taken responsibility for anything ever
bigger proof that the time report is rubbish is that an airstrike on a vehicle in a foreign country IS AN ACT OF WAR and israel would never admit they did it unless it was in cahoots with the sudanese government which would tell the world that they took out these “arms dealers”
im surprised bbc have not called them innocent activists!

  4. It serves Israels purpose that the world accepts these targeted attacks against these ruthless monstors no matter where they are. Country borders are no protection for these animals. Notwithstanding all the anti Israel sentiments the world is still happy that Israel perfoms this feat.

  5. #3 are you joking? you know how many times unnamed sources have been wrong, i.e. Israel is going to bomb Iran, probably heard about 100 times from unnamed “senior officials”

  6. I like how they summed up the middle-east media:”Al-Jazeera also filed its share of conflicted reports on the incident.”

Anyhow, I would have thought that Israel doesn’t really go around telling things like this, like #6 pointed out. If they did it, then what do they have to prove by telling the media? It would be just an another reason for the liberals to denounce them.
