Osama Bin Laden Burial Video May Be Released

The Associated Press is citing two Pentagon officials who say that a video of Osama bin Laden’s burial at sea will likely be made public soon, perhaps along with photos of his corpse.

The terrorist leader was dropped into the North Arabian Sea from the deck of the USS Carl Vinson early Monday.

Briefing reporters at the White House on Monday, Deputy National Security Advisor John Brennan said the administration would likely release a photo of bin Laden, but would do so cautiously. “We don’t want to do anything to compromise our ability to be successful the next time we get one of these guys and take him off the battlefield,” he said.

The burial video may not be the only bin Laden tape to surface soon. The Associated Press is also reporting that a propaganda recording, either video or audio, the killed Al Qaeda leader made recently is working its way through the Al Qaeda network, according to intelligence reports.

The timing of the tape’s release is coincidental, an official told the AP — there is no indication that the terrorist leader was aware that U.S. forces were plotting an attack against him, nor would have been able to prepare a message he knew would be his last.

  1. I hear the background music for the video is from a stomach-remedy TV commercial:

    Plop, plop, fizz, fizz/
Oh, what a relief it is.
