Special Election Set For Sept. 13 To Fill Weiner’s Congressional Seat

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has set special elections for former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s congressional seat and six vacant seats in the state Assembly for Sept. 13, coinciding with statewide primaries.

The 9th Congressional District includes parts of Brooklyn and Queens.

The Assembly seats are in Oneida County, Erie County, Brooklyn, Manhattan and two in Queens.

Weiner resigned in June after he admitted, after earlier denials, that he sent inappropriate messages and photos on Twitter.

  1. I’m certain we can find a decent candidate who can at least fill his shoes (if nothing else) and who isn’t afraid to look at the big picture.
