A fire broke out in Jerusalem Forest Sunday, near Mount Herzl and Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, and is currently ablaze and spreading.
Police have evacuated the museum and blocked all main roads in the area, and eight teams of firefighters are on the scene. Firefighting planes have also been alerted.
The fire is ablaze and spreading towards Pi Glilot petroleum terminal and Har Nof neighborhood. Sschools and residents were being evacuated from the area.
“There is a horse farm underneath Yad Vashem, which I believe has already been destroyed. The fire is very close to Yad Vashem,” he said, adding that firefighters were dousing the area around Pi Glilot in order to keep the blaze at bay.

What happened to the Super-Tanker firefighter aircraft that Netanyahu purchased after the Carmel blaze? Is it not operational?
My relatives in Har Nof just told me that they have not been evacuated and it appears that the fire appears to moving up the mountains and away from Har Nof. They also said that the smoke seems to be disappearing and they can now see the burnt forrest. Perhaps the fire is under control.
Not again!!
My relative tells me they can see only a few “hot spots” now and that it seems the worst might be over.
I was only a few minutes away from the fire at the time and the firefighters and all involved kept the fire under control and the people calm and safe- they did everything as good as possible and put it out-
