Attorney General Menachem Mazuz has just ordered criminal investigations be opened against Prime Minster Ehud Olmert in the investment center case and the allegations of political appointments in the Small and Medium Enterprises Authority during his tenure as Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor – Ynet reports.
Haaretz is now reporting that Olmert quickly responded to the attorney generals decision, saying that “these investigations are unnecessary. It is clear beyond any doubt that these investigations will end with nothing, and today’s decision will lead to that in practice.”
Olmert spent two days last week being questioned by Israeli Police after a criminal investigation was opened on Olmert – on suspicion of having tried, in his former role as finance minister, to influence a tender for the sale of a controlling stake in Bank Leumi.

how about an investigation into the cia financing rabin in 1989? it was public knowledge at the time — why isnt anyone investigated for that? (and why didnt the cia finance anti hamas in the last palestenian “election” (sarcasm) )
