The Prime Minister’s Office has asked the Claims Conference to provide technical assistance in locating an initial group of eligible survivors, who receive income supplements and therefore qualify for a stipend.�

The Claims Conference has managed contacts with the German Government for the Jewish people and has been making direct stipend payments to approximately 23,000 Israelis under the Article 2 Fund, financed by Germany.� Prime Minister’s Office Director-General Ra’anan Dinur thanked the Commission for its willingness to contribute its professional assistance and by allowing access to its databases thereby greatly accelerating initial payments to those most needy.

The Finance Ministry is currently examining various alternatives for a permanent allocation body, in accordance with last Sunday’s Government decision, in order to ensure quick and dependable payment.
