HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita and HaGaon HaRav Nissim Karelitz Shlita have called for an atzeres tefilla in light of the abolition of the Tal Law. The event is scheduled to take place in the Chazon Ish Kollel in Bnei Brak on Thursday 28 Menachem Av 5772 during the evening hours.
The kol korei refers to the current situation in which new realities seek to “uproot Torah from Eretz Yisrael”, stressing it has always been the limud that has sustained Am Yisrael throughout the years in golus.

I asked this once before and no one answered.
Not every 18-20 year old chareidi will be eligible to be inducted into the IDF, just as not every other youngster is eligible. But assuming that every single one was indeed inducted, does that mean that there will be NO ONE left learning in E”Y? Aren’t there thousands of other people learning and presumably protecting E”Y? Doesn’t THEIR learning count for anything?
What am I missing here?

#1 if we dont have the yungerlait we wont have the avreichim
very simple, you always want more defenders, just like the army wants more recruits, therefore we want to make sure ppl are learning, for that is real protection.
