IDF forces intercepted and captured four would-be-terrorists who attempted to cross over from Gaza into Israel on Thursday evening. The terrorists were found carrying a grenade and numerous knives on them.

They were brought by the IDF forces to be interrogated by Israeli Defense Ministry and security forces.

The assumption is that the four terrorists were going to carry out a large-scale terror attack somewhere in Israel’s south, against civilians or soldiers or both.

Just over a month ago, Palestinian media in Gaza published information regarding a group of youngsters who succeeded at escaping from Gaza into Israel via one of the gates in the southern Gaza strip near Khan Yunis. The youth climbed through layers of barbed wire that protect the fence and divide the two sides. The youth appear in the video footage as unharmed and burning a tire on the Israeli side of the fence in celebration of their escape.

It is believed that the current attempt was fueled by the publication of the previous successful attempt.
