PM Netanyahu Is Likely To Be Summoned For Questioning By Police

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is likely to be summoned for questioning by police as the case involving Bezeq and a former confidant of his, Shlomo Filber, moves forward. Filber has signed an agreement to become a state witness against Mr. Netanyahu.

Filber has already told police he personally did not gain in any way by carrying out instructions, as the state is relying on his testimony to build its case against PM Netanyahu. The allegations include the prime minister promoted regulation worth hundreds of millions of dollars to Bezeq.

In exchange, senior Bezeq Company officials instructed its Walla News website to provide favorable coverage of Mr. Netanyahu and his family. A number of senior Bezeq executives have been arrested, including Shaul Elovitch, the company’s largest shareholder, Filber, Nir Hefetz (a former confidant and advisor to PM Netanyahu), and Bezeq CEO Stella Handler.
