Jerusalem Police on Wednesday, Taanis Esther, assisted a number of children to fulfil a dream of one day, meeting with policemen.

As Purim was just a few hours away, a request was filed with police by the ‘סעד ומרפא’ NGO explaining there are a number of children who dream about meeting with police and seeing a bit of what a policeman’s life is about.

Jerusalem Police Chief Yoram Halevi was not willing to just fulfil their dream by meeting with the children but decided to give them a day they would never forget, during which they met with regular police as well as from specialized units.

The children arrived in their police uniforms and they were greeted warmly by their hosts, including Yassam commandos, border police, police vehicles, police dogs and police horses.

The children saw a display giving them an idea of the capabilities of the dogs, rode horses, entered police vehicles, and enjoyed the day, which was culminated with their receiving mishloach manos from police.

Chief Halevi gave each child a Jerusalem Police District pin to remember the day.
