DM Lieberman Comments On Bombing Of The Syrian Nuclear Reactor

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman released the following statement following the publication of details surrounding the IAF attack on the Syrian nuclear reactor in September 2007.

“Today it is already possible to find out what we did in the cabinet in September 2007. There were those who pushed and those who hesitated, and the historic and courageous decision we made today proved that we must not be deterred regarding issues of national security. Try to imagine what would have happened if we had not acted. Today, Syria would be a nuclear power.

“The motivation of our enemies has increased in recent years, but the strength of the IDF has increased, and the air force and intelligence capabilities have increased and expanded in size, compared to the capabilities we had in 2007. This equation should be internalized by everyone in the Middle East.
