WATCH: The White House Sends Israel A Mazel Tov On It’s 70th Anniversary

  1. 70 years of shmad, but also 70 years of chesed, Torah (thanks to the efforts of the Gedolim) and rebuilding Klal Yisroel.
    It’s a mixed blessing:
On the one hand, some of the worst aveiros are given free reign in Yerushalayim, and much too much blood has been spilt.
On the other hand, who knows if Mir, Ponevezh or Brisk would have been able to thrive the way it did without the state, even if they did have to fight for it?! And Israel has made a huge difference to the world. Some of the most important life saving innovations were created in Israel.
There’s plenty of reasons not to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut. But I don’t think it’s fair to bash anyone who does.
