Gerrer Rebbe Visits The Belzer Rebbe Ahead Of Rosh Hashanah

On Tuesday evening, 24 Elul, the Gerrer Rebbe, accompanied by two sons, visited the Belzer Rebbe in his Jerusalem home.

There are many such visits taking place in the days ahead of Rosh Hashanah, as the admorim are giving and receiving brachos for Rosh Hashanah from one another. In addition, behind-the-scenes discussions are ongoing between the rebbes regarding difficult decisions that have to be made pertaining to the new draft law.

While the chareidim are calling for three major changes in the draft law, some of the parties that backed the bill in its first reading in Knesset, insist they will not accept any major changes in the bill. Hence, the rebbes will have to decide to accept the bill in its current form or make good on a threat to leave the coalition since presenting yet another draft will is not viewed as a viable option at this juncture.

The rebbes did not discuss politics in this meeting, Kikar Shabbos News is reporting, rather the Belzer Rebbe inquired into the condition of Rebitzen Shoshana Raizel bas Mindel Kaila of Gur, the rebbe’s wife, who was hospitalized in Ichilov Hospital for a prolonged period and released last Thursday. In addition, the Gerre Rebbe wished the Belzer Rebbe mazel tov on the birth of a great grandson.

The Gerre Rebbe is expected to make additional visits such as this in the coming days, including the Boyaner and Slonim Rebbes Shlita, as well as the home of Rosh Yeshivas Brisk, HaGaon HaRav Meshulam Dov Solovechik Shlita.

The Belzer Rebbe’s ‘Mashbak’ (משמש בקודש-שמש), shamesh, Rav Shimon Wolf Klein, visited the Gerre Rebbe in his home in Yerushalayim earlier in the week, and they spoke for a half hour, presumably about the draft bill.
