IDF Southern District Commander Major-General Hertzi Halevi on Wednesday addressed the escalation in Gaza border warfare including cross-border attacks into southern Israel. He stressed the IDF “stands ready for any incident that may occur”, adding the military will know how to respond properly to any threat, with great force.

Halevi added, “It will be difficult to rebuild what was destroyed in the recent IDF attacks in the Gaza Strip,” he said, as politicians continue to release warnings to the Hamas regime in Gaza, warnings which seem to be falling on deaf ears.

In fact, some Hamas officials have recently stated the cross-border attacks will continue until such time Israel removes the marine blockade on Gaza.
