Israel Police Apprehend A New Driver Traveling At 211 KPH


Traffic enforcement police monitoring Route 90 in Israel on Sunday, March 10, 2019, apprehended a new driver at 8:00 PM traveling at 211 KPH (131 MPH) on a road with a maximum speed of 90 KPH. Police detected the vehicle near Be’er Ora, which stopped hundreds of meters down the road.

Police found a 23-year-old new driver from the Israel Arab community of Rahat. He was heading to Eilat from the Beersheva area. The officer on the scene invalidated the young man’s license for thirty days and the driver was detained for questioning.

He remained in lockup until the morning and he was arraigned in a Beersheva court, where police asked to extend his remand.
