WATCH: Survivors Of Fatal Bus Crash Hold Seudas Hoda’ah Together With Driver

Survivors of the horrific Kavim 304 bus crash that took place on Highway 443 on February 10th, held a Seudas Hoda’ah on Sunday together with the driver of the bus. The seudah was held in Modi’in Illit as that is where most of the passengers who were riding the bus that traveled from Modi’in Illit to Jerusalem on that fateful day are from.

According to a special report that appeared in B’Chadrei Charedim, the party, which was titled, “To praise and thank you for the miracles that you perform every day for us” was organized by the Ezer M’Zion organization and held in the Meshech Chochma hall in the community.

During the Seudah the prayer Nishmas Kol Chai was recited aloud and in unison with the presiding  Rav, Rabbi Shlomo Miller. Following the prayer, the participants broke out in dance and song.

The crowd gave thanks for the miracles done that day because the crash that claimed the lives of two residents of Modi’in Illit could have been far worse.

  1. Has anyone seen anything about how many passengers were wearing safety belts and if any estimates have been made as to how much injuries would have been reduced if more of them had been?

  2. I agree with Chaya13 – this was really insensitive to the families of the two that were killed, and including the driver, whose negligence seems to have caused or at least contributed to the accident, only makes it worse.

This reminds me of something that I was told by (I think) Noam Arnon of Chevron (it could have been another of the community spokesmen) – his 5-year-old daughter was grazed by a bullet fired in the same attack that killed Shalhevet Pass HY”D. He and his family celebrate the day as a “second birthday” for his daughter each year, but only quietly, out of sensitivity for his neighbors, the Pass family. having a public event like this not even a year after the event is incredibly hurtful to the families of the Niftarim.
