VIDEO: Israeli Startup Raises Big Bucks For Meat Created From Cow Cells, Without Shechita

The Israeli startup Aleph Farms was founded in 2017, and today, is showing great promise for developing meat without the shechita of cows. The venture has just completed raising $11.65 million in capital.

Aleph Farms is producing what is described as real meat by using cow-cells, which provides the meat experience. The company adds that their product avoids the need of use of antibiotics to avoid foodborne illness. The company team is confident that they can produce a juicy steak that will compete with the best of what the market offers today.

Forbes reports “Aleph’s founding team includes Mr. Didier Toubia, Dr. Neta Lavon and Prof. Shulamit Levenberg, and is based on Prof. Levenberg’s research in tissue engineering done in the Technion Institute of Technology in Israel.”
