Petira Of Rebbetzin Rivka Diner A”H, Mother Of 10 from Modi’in Illit


On Wednesday afternoon, Rebbetzin Rivka Diner A”H was niftar, the wife of HaGaon Rav Eliezer Diner, mora d’asra of Beit Knesset Beit Yitzchak in Modi’in Illit and a Rosh Yeshiva in Yeshivas Darchei Moshe in Bnei Brak. The nifteres was 57.

The Rebbetzin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on erev Pesach and there have been ongoing tefilos in the community on her behalf since. Tomorrow, Thursday, the Rebbetzin would have been 58.

She was born in Switzerland to Rav Ze’ev Nachum Warshner (ורשנר) Z”L and to her mother, Moras Ruth A”H.

She is survived by the rav and ten children, of which three have yet to be married. The levaya began at 3:30PM from their home on Avnei Nezer Street in Modi’in Illit and the levaya continues at 6:00PM at Shamgar in Yerushalayim.

  1. Just to add a correction: her family name spelled in English is Dunner not Diner and her maiden name was Wreshner, a niece of Harav Matisyahu Salomon. Very, very sad. BDE

  2. Just for the record, although in English the family name is Dunner, however, in Hebrew the family is referred to as Diner and is spelled that way by the family. I assume Dunner was a British distortion of the real name, Diner. Thus, YWN technically isn’t wrong.
