Beit Shemesh Mayor Bloch Confronted by Chareidi Residents [VIDEO & PHOTOS]

Parents of close to 100 children from chareidi families in Beit Shemesh have yet been assigned to kindergartens, with opening day of the new school year rapidly approaching.

YWN-Israel recently reported that there are 94 children who are still unassigned, and Beit Shemesh Mayor Dr. Aliza Bloch on Thursday was met by dozens of chareidi residents of the city’s Bar Ilan neighborhood as she was heading to a ceremony to welcome new immigrants who moved to the city from the United States.

The residents carried signs in English explaining the plight of the children, and their concerns as the school year will soon begin.

  1. dramatic headline – but where was the confrontation? The video shows Mrs. Bloch complaining to the press over the government’s lack of supplying new residents with transportation facilities and the like. a new area – residential buildings – was built under the previous administration before the infrastructure, in order to house as many people in as short a time as possible. It will take time to build the infrastructure now, and circumventing the normal procedure will cause extra delay (partly because infrastructure is easier done before dwelling unit construction). But I don’t live in BS, so one has to hear from the residents.
