The Petira of Sofer STaM Rav Moshe Costantiner ZT”L in Eretz Yisrael


Tragedy struck the Breslov Chassidus with the petira of Rav Moshe Costantiner Z”L (קוסטנטינר) in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital on Wednesday. The Niftar was a member of the chassidus in Eretz Yisrael, niftar at the age of 51.

The niftar was the son of Rav Avraham Chaim Costantiner, a prominent member of the Breslov tzibur in Beit Shemesh. He was married to a daughter of Rav Shmuel Barlev, a prominent member of the chassidus in Yerushalayim.

The niftar lived in Ramot Daled in Yerushalayim and earned his livelihood as a Sofer STaM.  He was the person responsible for the annual yahrzeit seuda for Rav Nachman during Sukkos in the Breslov Beis Medrash in Ramot. He worked hard to arrange the funding in cooperation with the gabboim of shuls in Ramot.

The niftar is described as a symbol of what a Breslov chossid should be and for over twenty years, he worked hard to show how to address and deal with special ed children, with the parents of these children explaining he gave his entire neshama in his work with the special population, and the results were evident to all. He also worked as a educator in the Achiezer Talmid Torah in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood of Jerusalem.

The niftar is survived by his rebitzen and 14 children, meriting to bring only seven of them to their chupah.
