Charedi Toddler Rescued By Firefighters After Falling Out of Apartment Window in Jerusalem

A miracle took place in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem on Sunday, after a two-year-old toddler, who was playing on the window bars in a window in a second-story apartment, fell through the bars and was caught by his head. Firefighters who rushed to the scene found the boy suspended from the protective bars of the window dangling from his head which got caught in the bars after the rest of his body slipped through them.

The incident took place around 7:00 p.m. and firefighters who rushed to the scene were shocked to see the two-year-old dangling from window. According to a statement issued by the fire department afterward, the boy had succeeded in crawling through the bars, and only the fact that his head was too large to fit through prevented him from falling two stories to the ground below. Additionally, it was also miraculous that the boy didn’t hang himself or cause any other severe injury.

The commander of the firefighters at the scene held the boy while a second firefighter utilized a special rescue kit to push the bars apart and extricate the boy. After the incident ended with the boy being rescued, the commander told the media, “We received an alert just after 7:00 p.m. that a young boy was in a life-threatening situation. Upon our arrival at the scene we found the boy hanging from the bars on the window with his entire body dangling below him. We sprang into action in order to safeguard and extricate the boy using a specialized tool kit and thankfully the incident ended without any aggravated injury to the boy.”
