President Shimon Peres met with the governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson, who is visiting Israel. Richardson is a possible vice presidential candidate on the Barak Obama ticket in the American presidential race.

Mr. Peres discussed the intricacies of the regional security situation with the governor, then moving on to praise the American government and its overwhelming support of Israel over its 60 years of existence.
