SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Monday, day 13 of the virtual ceasefire.

*Issawiya, Jerusalem district: Border police attacked by Arabs hurling rocks on Monday night. No injuries reported.

*IDF soldiers involved in counter-terror operations throughout Yehuda & Shomron on Monday night arrested 10 suspects. The suspects were turned over to the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) for interrogation.

*Firebomb attack at an Israeli motorist late Monday night near Kedumim in Shomron. No injuries.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Public transportation fares are going up on the average of 2.5% on Tuesday.

*PM Olmert expected to appoint Kadima MK Eli Aflalo to a cabinet post and possible make some changes in portfolios.

*A Kfar Saba court sentenced a Kfar Qana resident to two years in prison for driving 4 illegal PA residents inside the Green Line.

*DM Barak left for Greece on Monday night for a brief working visit. He is expected to meet with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen).

*MK (Labor) Avishai Braverman to chair the Knesset Finance Committee.

*Jewish Agency: All eligible members of Falashmura community in Ethiopia have been brought to Israel. The remaining population is not entitled to come to Israel.

*Human bones found in Golan Heights on Monday may be that of IDF soldier Guy Chever, missing almost 11 years, or that of Donna Bennet who disappeared in Tiveria in August 2003. Remains sent to Abu Kabir Forensic Institute.

*Next round of talks between Israel and Syria scheduled for Monday in Istanbul.

*The border policeman killed during farewell ceremony for French President Nicolas Sarkozy did commit suicide the official report confirms.
