Israel: Golan Expected to Sign Demolition Orders

Major-General Yair Golan, who heads the IDF’s Homefront Command, is expected to sign demolition orders to raze the home of the bulldozer terrorist who last week struck in Yerushalayim, murdering three people and leaving over 75 injured, some seriously. The family of the terrorist lives in the Tzur Bachar area of the capital.

Golan is also expected to sign a demolition order against the family of the Merkaz HaRav Yeshiva terrorist, who in March of this year murdered 8 yeshiva students and injuring others. That terrorist’s family lives in the Jabel Mukaber area of Yerushalayim.

Security officials feel such a move would serve as a powerful deterrent to future terrorists. Attorney General Menachem Mazuz last week stated there is no legal barrier to razing the homes, but warned such a move may result in harsh condemnations from the international community.
