No Safe Rooms Constructed in Sderot

As Rosh Hashanah approaches, residents of Sderot question why the national and local governments have yet to construct safe rooms as promised.

Housing Minister Ze’ev Boim says “it’s unbelievable. We are in days of mercy but Hamas may renew attacks at any time”.

Sderot Mayor Eli Moiyal questions how the various government committees can continue in-fighting and quarreling amongst themselves while nothing is being done. He stated “not a single safe room has been constructed in Sderot” despite the grandiose statements and promises from different elected officials.

Boim is calling on the various government agencies to put differences aside and to sign to give the immediate go-ahead towards construction in Sderot so residents can find protection should the attacks resume.
