Several dozen roshei yeshiva representing the Litvish, Chassidish, and Sefardic Torah worlds in Eretz Yisroel gathered on Monday at the home of the venerable sar haTorah, Maran Rav Dov Landau shlit”a, to confront the escalating gezeiros against yeshivos.
With government threats looming — including the potential arrest of yeshiva bochurim for refusing army enlistment — the rabbanim convened to deliberate next steps. After lengthy discussion, a consensus was reached: the situation demands immediate international action. Plans are now underway for a second Keren Olam HaTorah mission to the United States, following the historic success of last year’s campaign.
Despite his advanced age of 95 and recent surgery following a broken bone, Rav Dov shlit”a expressed an unwavering desire to participate once again, saying he wants to do everything he can for Keren Olam HaTorah. Rav Dov requested tefillos from the tzibbur that he should have the strength to travel once more to America on behalf of the yeshivos.
The meeting was marked by remarkable achdus, with roshei yeshiva from all backgrounds joining together with one voice and one mission: to secure the future of Torah in Eretz Yisroel.
Askanim involved say the trip is tentatively planned for shortly after Shavuos. Last year’s inaugural campaign brought in over $100 million for yeshivos and drew tens of thousands of participants to events across the U.S., Canada, and South America.
Updates on the campaign and Rav Dov’s health will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.

God forbid we take any money away from the reform WZO. Lets rather go suck out from the Americans another 100 million bucks and let the American yeshivos and moisdois crumble from financial stress while the reform enjoy their billion dollars in funding
I presume esteemed rabonim are not using Israeli airports and airplanes as those are under protection of tzahal air defense equipment. Maybe only use air defense developed by lomdei Torah or take a ride to Amman and then use equipment owned by bnei Yishmael.
@wackyway and @always just make sure before you make fun of the gedoilim that you are ready to lose you oilom haba. I think you may want to consider getting a filter for your internet. Only a person who’s head is in manure can speak like that.
Time to man up and be lomdei Torah while in the army, like our national religous bretheren do.
Go ahead and bash the Gedolei Hador, just don’t run to them when you need a blessing for your illnesses. And definitely don’t run to them when times are critical and it’s clear the ones who spit at them are not going to be the ones that make it. This is your chance to give them a few dollars and show Hashem where you stand. Don’t be from the spitters, there is going to be a Great Divide and they aren’t going to be redeemed. Be on the safe side and give them a donation, it will be harder for the yezter hara to prosecute you!
Wackaway. My thoughts exactly, and I’m sure that of many others. It is utterly reprehensible. The so-called Olam HaTorah is being held hostage by the opinion of two individuals in this matter, to the exclusion of most others.
For every $1,000 you contribute you are guaranteed yeshuos gedolos vniflaos. GUARANTEED. At least that’s what I heard.
If the moderators of this site allow such disgraceful comments about Gedolei Yisroel to be posted, then this isn’t a Frum site. It’s amazing how people are so unrestrained today that they’ll be willing to forfeit their chelek in olom habah for just about nothing.
Haimy, ask these same Gedolim what their Shita is about commenting on news sites on the treife internet. I guarantee they will tell you that doing so will forfeit your chelek in olam habah. So me and you will both be in good company
rebEmes, just wondering, is the Bracha of “R’fa’ainu HASHEM” crossed out in your siddur? In your CHumash does it say “Ani HASHEM Rofecha” or maybe not ?
@wacky do yourself a favor and give up! I think the only company you’ll have if you continue will be with korach viadadoi for belittling the leaders of the generation.
Voting in the WZO for a religious slate at least takes away money from reform lefty liberals. There are many Gedolim who supported voting I saw ads in Mishpacha magazine
If people had even the slightest clue what is going to happen to them for disrespecting such holy people, they would run and cry to him for forgiveness while emptying their entire bank account into his hand. As the saying goes the one who laughs last. 3,000 years of History and suffering and the same scoffers always met their end in nasty ways and the same will happen again
Why does YWN allow garbage like this to be posted on their website. Isn’t mocking gedolim worse than foul language. What a disgrace.
אַל־תּ֣וֹכַח לֵ֭ץ פֶּן־יִשְׂנָאֶ֑ךָּ הוֹכַ֥ח לְ֝חָכָ֗ם וְיֶאֱהָבֶֽךָּ׃
Do not rebuke a scoffer, for he will hate you;
Reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
Mishle 8:9
I did not notice any RY from DL/Hesder yeshivot; are they not part of the Olam HaTorah?
How to lose your Olam Haboh in 10 seconds: Post a comment poking fun or making a joke out of Gedolim (Especially the leading an most senior gedolim of EY.
Wow, “That was easy”!
With all due respect to the gdolim.
– The Yeshivos and mosdos in the USA need the money as much as the Yeshivos and Mosdos in E”Y
– The elections in the WZO was the opportunity for much, much more than $100,000,000. But they decided against voting for it for unclear reasons l’mayseh.
The Charedi world is not the one the Chazon Ish was envisioning, rabbosai.
Rabbosai, we’re dealing with issues that are omdim berumo shel olam. We’re all from Yeshiva-educated backgrounds, and we’re aiming for the same cause. Let’s keep these discussions focused, without derisive statements or ad hominem attacks, and let’s deal with logic, not with threats of heavenly retribution as our only defense (or offense) mechanism.
I tremble as I say this, but במקום שיש חילול ה’, אין חולקים כבוד לרב
We have boys and young men leaving their yeshivos and families and jobs again for another round of attacks, and the Gedolim are replacing their Talmud Torah for hishtadlus, not to convince others to join the burden, but to fly to America and collect funds to avoid sharing this burden.
Unfortunately, it seems that the Charedi Gedolim are just that, Gedolim and leaders just for the Charedi Yidden. I dont know if they don’t understand how the actions of the Charedim affect the rest of Klal Yisroel, or just choose to ignore it, but they only seem to care about the well being of the Charedim. I hope I’m wrong about this, but I see no other way of understanding their actions
And the biggest hypocrisy? The Charedi politicians. They side with the right. They support the war. But not the draft. They want our nation tonight, but as long as they’re not the ones fighting. If they would side with the left, they would want to end the war, then it would be a much more respectable position.
please remove any negative things against Daas Torah
If you give money even though you’re on the fence about things, imagine the power that will give you on Yom Hadin! Supporting the Gedolei Hador? Rabbanim in their 90s who know the entire Torah and who else is on that level these days? There are not that many left. And they feel it’s important to take that difficult flight to come here and appeal for God. It’s the chance of a lifetime to show who you are and what matters to you. Even if you don’t have a lot of money but just to give something and be part of it. This is part of the filtering process where they are deciding upstairs who stands where. Give with an open heart. They are counting on you. At the very least don’t speak against it. The people who do are going to regret it severely
rebEmes, stop with your immature amateur childish silly threats. My money will go to local institutions Aniyei Ircha Kodem who need the money badly. A true Gadol and Sar Hatorah would find a Hetter to milk out the money from the reform to help the Israeli moisdos AND weaken the reformists at the same time
lakewoodbt – don’t come here as a guest and boss people around. You don’t like what you see here on the treife internet? Trade in your smartphone for a dumb phone and go back to the bais midrash where holy jews like you belong
“My money will go to local institutions Aniyei Ircha Kodem who need the money badly. A true Gadol and Sar Hatorah would find a Hetter to milk out the money from the reform to help the Israeli moisdos AND weaken the reformists at the same time”
Rabbosai, this is true. Think about it.
Bottom line: We, the frum (aka charedim) living both in E”Y and in the USA, are falling short. We’re not nosei b’ol. We lack ahavas yisroel. We’re caught up on the externalities. We give ourselves too much credit and pat ourselves on the back for blindly following elderly rabbonim whose main claim to fame is that they’re old and they were born in Poland. There are plenty Rabbonim out there in their 60s and 70s who are gedolei Torah, sharp, understand the current world, and have a real klohr-keit on where things are, but we’re not seeing them for what they are. Remember, in Pirkei Avos, being 90 years old is not a positive. Think about this for a moment before you give me a mussar shmooze.
“RebEmes”, you need to chill out a bit and get off your high horse. Bimchilah mikvodcha: Are you a navi?
