Marking one year since his assassination by Israel, the Hezbollah-linked al-Mayadeen outlet aired what it claims is the last known image of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
According to al-Mayadeen, Nasrallah is seen at Hezbollah’s “command operations room,” just days before he was killed in an Israeli airstrike.
At that time, Israel had launched a major offensive against Hezbollah, beginning with the so-called pager attack, and continuing with strikes that took out many of the group’s top commanders and vital infrastructure.
The offensive culminated with the assassination of Nasrallah while he was at Hezbollah’s main underground command center in Beirut on September 27, 2024. The Israeli Air Force dropped dozens of bunker-busting bombs on the site, leveling several buildings. Days later, the IDF sent ground troops into southern Lebanon.
