During the predawn hours of isru chag, Jerusalem firefighters were summoned to a blaze in Meah Shearim. Upon their arrival they found a home engulfed in flames. Baruch Hashem the occupants of the home were uninjured but fire officials report the home was totally destroyed, including the contents and the walls, leaving it unfit to be lived in as a result.
After the blaze was brought under control, an inspection revealed that a pair of tefillin was unharmed. The outer plastic bag was scorched but the cloth bag and tefillin were undamaged.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
