SCHOOLHOUSE RAID: Jerusalem Police Probe Suspected Incitement In Educational Institution

A major Israel Police operation in eastern Jerusalem on Wednesday led to the seizure of Palestinian Authority flags and educational materials suspected of containing incitement at a school in the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood.

The operation was launched following intelligence information indicating that educational materials associated with the Palestinian Authority and suspected incitement content were being stored and used within the institution. Detectives from the Jerusalem District’s Special Operations Unit conducted a search of the premises.

During the raid, officers located and confiscated Palestinian Authority flags, scarves bearing similar symbols, and educational materials linked to the Palestinian Authority. Police said the findings raised concerns about the introduction of nationalist and potentially inflammatory content into the educational system in eastern Jerusalem.

Following the discovery, the school’s principal was detained for questioning and taken to a police station as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are seeking to determine her level of involvement in the possession and use of the materials found on site.

The operation is the latest in a series of enforcement actions carried out by Israeli authorities in eastern Jerusalem in recent months. Police say they are continuing efforts to combat incitement and strengthen governance throughout the city.

In a statement, Israel Police said they will continue acting decisively against attempts to introduce or distribute incitement-related materials in educational institutions, emphasizing that schools should serve educational purposes rather than political agendas.

The investigation remains ongoing.
