Jewish Agency for Israel Director Ze’ev Bielski is working with Cabinet Secretary Oveid Yechezkel. They have turned to Hebrew University’s Dr. Uzi Rivhon to prepare a questionnaire, which will appear on the website of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption in the hope of persuading the many former Israelis, yordim, to complete it.

The form will ask why they left and why they are not returning – what is keeping them away and what they require to return home.

The effort is based on the premise that the overwhelming number of the 750,000 Israelis living in The Diaspora wish to maintain their connection with Israel, and many, if given the right opportunity, would chose to return home.
