More on Bet HaShalom & the Government’s Disdain

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni: This is a group that does not recognize the authority of the courts, IDF, the government and police. This is a trend that must be stopped.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak: The court-rdered eviction will be implemented even if it demands an tough battle.

Public Security Minister Avi Dichter: The violence is unacceptable and those responsible must be dealt with harshly.

Israel Police: There is no doubt the eviction will take place in compliance with the court decision, but the question remains at what price?

While Defense Ministry officials are secretly meeting with representatives of Bet HaShalom, Defense Minister Barak continues to publicly vilify the residents of Chevron and Bet HaShalom, seeking to set the stage for another bloody scene, a repeat of Amona.

Not wishing to tarnish his image, the Defense Ministry of Thursday morning released a message that there are no secret talks and the eviction will take place despite the opposition.

Barak has been tenacious in his opposition to the Jewish community of Chevron, having instructed the state prosecutor to appeal a court decision that rejected a state request to bar Noam Federman from all of Yehuda and Shomron. The district level and Supreme Court have also condemned the actions of police and security officials for the middle-of-the-night brutal destruction of the Federman home, ousting the parents and their nine children in the dark of night, without any warning. There is a deafening silence from ACRI (Association for Civil Rights in Israel) and B’tselem, champions of justice who are too busy defending the rights of terrorists to become involved in protecting the Federmans of Israel.

Nevertheless, Barak, who seems intent on portraying himself as the defender of law & order and democracy, continues his hard-hand tactics against Jews, announcing the residents of Bet HaShalom will be removed at any price.

Bet HaShalom’s residents however are not being intimidated or deterred, and vow they will not walk out and they will defense their home “as one defends one’s home”.

The following statement was released to the media on Wednesday by the Action Committee For The Struggle Over Bet HaShalom:
“The Joint Committee hereby declares that the struggle over Bet HaShalom is a national struggle of Am Israel for the Land of Israel. The struggle is led by a broad and united leadership, backed up by many rabbis who join the urgent appeal issued this morning by Rav Dov Lior Shlita and Rav Shmuel Eliyahu Shlita.

“They too call upon everyone to immediately come to Beit HaShalom in Chevron to protect and defend the house and the honor of Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael.”

On the other side of the coin, rocket attacks in southern Israel continue to increase in intensity, yet Mr. Security continues to assure residents living under constant threat that his ceasefire is alive and well, seeking to spend his last days in office politicking and avoiding his true responsibilities, the defense of the Homeland. Instead, Barak has taken upon himself to become the nation’s second police commissioner.

In the meantime, IDF Southern Commander Major-General Yoav Galant this week released yet another warning, a warning that continues to go unheeded, a warning that carries ominous predictions for the inevitable, soon-to-occur armed conflict with Gaza.

Even more conspicuous is the government’s lack of action on behalf of captured IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, who will soon mark 900 days in Hamas captivity, without a visit from the Red Cross, family members, or anyone outside of Hamas-controlled Gaza.

We mustn’t forget however the Government of Israel is righteous and will be better than the enemy, and prior to stepping down from office, our very own Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will oversee yet another ‘good-will gesture’ to his colleague, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), the so-called moderate, [perhaps due to his suit and tie], the release of another 250 terrorists, while Gilad Shalit languishes somewhere in Hamasland.

For those who are yet unfamiliar with the “moderate PA leader,” the one who Olmert, Livni and Netanyahu wish to address as “Israel’s peace partner”, it was he who worked diligently to assist in the planning and funding of the Munich Olympic Massacre (http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/article.php?p=22460), and the very same moderate who earned his doctorate by publishing his denial of the Holocaust.

His doctoral thesis later became a book, The Other Side: the Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism, which, following his appointment as Prime Minister in 2003, was heavily criticized as an example of Holocaust denial.

In his book, Abbas wrote:
“It seems that the interest of the Zionist movement, however, is to inflate this figure [of Holocaust deaths] so that their gains will be greater. This led them to emphasize this figure [six million] in order to gain the solidarity of international public opinion with Zionism. Many scholars have debated the figure of six million and reached stunning conclusions—fixing the number of Jewish victims at only a few hundred thousand.” (Wikipedia)

Abu Daoud, in his autobiography “From Jerusalem to Munich” wrote that the funds for the major attack were supplied by Mahmoud Abbas, AKA Abu Mazen, then chairman of the PLO as well as president of the Palestine National Authority. (Yechiel Spira – YWN Israel)
