Incoming Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday was briefed by senior members of the security and intelligence communities, including IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gabi Ashkenazi. He was given a comprehensive picture of the dangers and issues facing the country, including classified report pertaining to Iran.

Ashkenazi briefed Netanyahu on the PA (Palestinian Authority), Lebanon and Syria, and Netanyahu was also briefed by Mossad Intelligence Agency Director Meir Dagan and ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) Director Yuval Diskin.
