European Union Foreign Minister Javier Solana met with a Hizbullah MP in Lebanon. The Saturday meeting was part of the senior EU official�s visit to Lebanon to show the European community�s continued support for Lebanon.

Solana met with Hussein Hajj Hassan, who holds one of Hizbullah�s 11 seats in the 128-seat Lebanese parliament. Solana also met with Lebanese President Michel Sleiman, using the opportunity to reemphasize the EU�s commitment to Lebanon, praising last week�s general election, stating it furthers a stable democratic society.
