Mosquitoes infected with west nile virus have been identified in the area of date orchards of Kibbutz Yutvata and the fish ponds of Talmei Eliezer.

Health officials are monitoring the situation, calling on citizens to take appropriate action, most importantly, trying to dry out and eliminate standing pools of water. Officials state the infected insects are likely to make their way to other areas of the country.
