Tuesday Afternoon News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


Shas MK Nissim Ze’ev visited the Modi’in Illit chareidi outpost on Tuesday morning.

**Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman called on US President Barak Obama to honor the commitments of his predecessors, President Bush’s understandings with Israel pertaining to ‘settlement blocs’ in Yehuda and Shomron.

**Police have called on the public to assist in locating Anatoly Gittleman, 60, who has been missing from Karnei Shomron since Sunday.

**Lebanon on Tuesday reported IAF planes violated its airspace.

  1. Yechiel – I don’t usually post, especially directly to you, and I thank you for all of your torahdik news updates. But this I had to address – why are you calling Modi’in Illit (and no, I don’t live there) an outpost?! did you see that in the secular media and copy it? Perhaps, and it is, a settlement….but an outpost? which the government and for sure the states would love to jump on as the first things that “need to go”? The secular media would love to adopt that term for a charedi settlement for sure – what do they care if it’s first to go c”v?

  2. I think he’s referring to the outpost that they’re planning just outside of Kiryat Sefer. It was reported on here a few days ago.
