According to Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Dr. Gabriella Shalev, an internal probe into Operation Cast Lead by Israel will not make the problem disappear, explaining to a Israel Democracy Institute forum that the momentum against Israel is unprecedented, and an internal inquiry will not result in the matter dropping from the political arena.

“We are seeing a murky wave against the State of Israel the likes of which has not been seen in many years” warned the ambassador, who also expressed criticism for Israel�s poor handling of explaining itself and the actions of the nation in the counter-terror operation. She stated the Goldstone Report does not represent an unbiased fact-finding effort, but an Israel-bashing one-sided document that fails to correctly present true facts.

She is calling for a major diplomatic effort, adding the nation must learn that we do not necessarily need to launch a boycott against those who oppose us, and we should not be afraid of a probe since the facts speak for themselves.
