Israel: Summer Driving Regulations and More

Today, April 1st, winter driving regulations end. That means private motorists traveling on inter-city highways are no longer required to turn on headlights during daytime hours.

Buses, taxis, trucks and emergency vehicles are still required to adhere to laws dictating their use of headlights, laws that differ from private vehicles.

In another traffic related matter, police today end the warning program in which drivers with clean records are given warnings in place of summonses for certain violations, including using a cellular telephone while driving. The practice has ended and as such, motorists apprehended violating the law will be issued a summons.
