In response to the appointment of Dr. Avi Simchon as the new advisor to Finance Minister Dr. Yuval Shteinitz, MK (Yahadut HaTorah) R� Moshe Gafne stated �Pharaoh preceded him with his policy against growing families�.

Gafne was referring to Simchon�s statements regarding large families, that� families with seven, eight or even ten children are endangering the nation�, calling it �destructive to society� as was reported by YWN-Israel.

Gafne stated that in essence, Dr. Simchon adds nothing since there have people who preceded him who held the same viewpoint �but not just targeting one segment of society, but the entire Jewish People.

Where are Pharaoh and those nations with the �pein yirbu� philosophy today and where is Am Yisrael with its large families� he questioned rhetorically. �Kein Yirbu� he concluded.
