PA Steps Up Israel Boycott Ahead of Talks

As the PA (Palestinian Authority) is about to enter into mediated negotiations with Israel, Minister of Economics Hassan Abu Libdeh announced PA residents working in yishuvim must stop by next year, stating such a practice must stop. This is an additional step following the ongoing boycott on the sale of Israeli products in PA areas.

The minister explained the move towards halting Israel’s ongoing land grab and expansion, adding PA residents violating the ban will face up to 5 years in jail as well as a fine of up to $14,000.

Settlement Council leader Danny Dayan labeled the new PA decree a “loathsome act” that demands an immediate Israeli response, calling on the government to halt the transfer of tax funds from Israel to the PA.
