A Florida man has been charged with federal arson after allegedly setting fire to a Chabad Jewish Center in Punta Gorda ahead of Rosh Hashanah. Prosecutors say 31-year-old Blake Richard Hoover ignited the blaze and spray-painted the letter “J” on the synagogue and Hebrew school. Investigators say Hoover had previously expressed intent to burn down the center and was caught on a license plate reader near the scene. Police later recovered a gas can and spray paint from his home.
