FLATBUSH: Early Sunday morning at approximately 5:00 a.m., a catalytic converter was stolen from a Prius at the corner of Avenue K and East 13th Street in Flatbush. The theft was carried out in under two minutes! Flatbush Shomrim responded to the scene within minutes, however, the suspects had already fled the area. The cost to replace a stolen catalytic converter on a Prius is estimated at approximately $2,500, leaving victims with significant out-of-pocket expenses and added hardship. Flatbush Shomrim and the NYPD are investigating.
