Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino has been removed from his role and is expected to retire soon, The Atlantic reports.

Bovino will return to his previous post in El Centro, near the U.S.–Mexico border, where he is expected to retire in the near future, according to a Department of Homeland Security official.
